In a Saturday afternoon thriller Brisbane Lions 10.15 d Geelong Cats 10.14 to put the lions in the premiership hunt for the flag. On Saturday night the Collingwood 17.12 d Adelaide Crows 6.12 to push the crows out of the eight. Another Saturday night thrashing with North Melbourne 22.12 d Port Adelaide 8.10. The bombers fly themselves into finals with Essendon 13.9 d Fremantle 7.13. On Sunday Richmond 13.10 d West Coast Eagles 13.4 to put Richmond in the top 4. Another Sunday game Western Bulldogs 19.12 d GWS Giants 9.11. To end the round Hawthorn 18.10 d Gold Coast Suns 7.6
